loaf: introduction [THIS STORY IS DISCONTINUED]
Chamkra is a planet in Kali Ankh, a system of planets orbiting a black hole (the tech that allows them to live in such conditions has become a simple part of nature, a part of magic, so natural that the people of Kali Ankh would think it bizarre to say that it was all built by humans).
On Chamkra, humans live alongside gods. Gods with grotesque bodies which have melded into the very geography of the world, gods who speak through a language which sounds simply like music to the unknowing. The world is also populated by 'sprouts' of the gods, as the gods can expand their bodies into trees and hills and anything you can imagine, as long as it's connected to the main body of the god.
Lavan Nacli works as a human-god communicator, someone who has learned the Chamkra gods' language and studied their etiquette such that he can interact with them and ensure harmony between gods and humans.
One day, the oven in Lavan's house (which can talk, which is normal around here) produces a little kitten. As a joke. A kitten who was loafing. Get it? Because she came out of the oven? The oven thinks it's super funny.
But soon, it starts to seem the oven and Ms Loaf's existence may be connected to grander things on Chamkra. Things which could completely change the balance of power between gods and humans.
The story is available on Royal Road as well.

This page was previously the index for the story. However, the posts have now been sorted into a separate section of the newsletter, and you can now view it in order at said section. So that’s the index.
